Meet the A&W leadership team
Chairman of A&W Restaurants, Inc.
Dale has worked in the foodservice industry for most of his life and has been involved with A&W Restaurants since the early 1960s. He first joined A&W as a restaurant owner in the Lansing, MI, area, drawn to A&W’s franchising initiative and brand recognition in the upper Midwest. Dale is credited as being the first restaurant owner to put a bacon cheeseburger on the menu, circa 1963. His involvement with the A&W brand and its franchisee board increased as he purchased more restaurants. In 1986 he was appointed President of A&W Restaurants Inc. and has served in various corporate and board leadership positions since. He became Chairman of A&W in 2011.

President & CEO
Kevin Bazner is a 40-year veteran of the restaurant industry. He first joined A&W Restaurants Inc. in 1985 in Corporate Operations, then in 1988 he took over the International Division of A&W based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He became President and CEO from 2000-2003, and left the company for a time to become a franchising industry consultant, investor and ultimately President and COO of Smoothie King Corp. Kevin returned to A&W as President and CEO in 2011, when a partnership of international and domestic A&W Franchise Partners purchased the concept. Kevin is committed to the long-term development of the iconic chain and continues to head the day-to-day operations and development of A&W’s domestic and international markets.

Chief Operating Officer
Paul has worked in the foodservice industry since he was a teenager. He first joined A&W Restaurants in the early 1990s as a District Supervisor, then advanced to Vice President of Company Operations responsible for over 200 corporate locations across the country. Paul was drawn to the brand’s heritage and the opportunity to work in a multi-unit environment. He left the company in 2004 to work as a consultant before returning in 2011 as COO during the brand’s acquisition by a partnership of domestic and international A&W franchisees.

Vice President of Restaurant Support Services
Bill has over 30 years of experience in the restaurant business, starting with his first job at a local hot dog stand in Newport Beach, CA. Bill has experienced the business from the entrepreneurial, franchise and corporate viewpoint. He first joined A&W in the late 1980s, working as Director and then Vice President of Restaurant Support Services. He left the company in 2004 and worked as a consultant for numerous start-up restaurant franchises, and rejoined A&W after our leadership change in 2011. Bill is currently in charge of training and development.

Vice President of Marketing
Responsible for development of all brand, national and local store marketing initiatives for the A&W system, Sarah has been with A&W since 2008. Her experience in consumer insights, food innovation, creative, field and brand marketing has led her to her current position leading the Marketing Team for the iconic A&W brand. Changes implemented in her tenure include a return to grassroots local store marketing, an emphasis on social and digital Marketing, and the introduction of over 23 LTOs since 2011, including Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders, which have become a permanent menu item.

Director of Operations
Jimmy began his career as an hourly employee and has been in the restaurant industry for 30 years. He has worked for A&W since 2007 in a variety of roles, including Area Supervisor, Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Franchise Business Consultant. Additionally, he worked as a National Multi-Brand Operations Director for Long John Silver’s/A&W Restaurants for two years.

Director of Design & Construction
Ron has over 30 years of experience in all phases of architectural and construction projects and has been working with the A&W concept in some capacity since 2002. Ron first got involved with A&W through two previous owners and continued to work closely with the brand after the leadership change in 2011. Now that Ron is a full-time member of the A&W family, his responsibilities include growing the capacity of the Design and Construction Team and assisting in our International Development.

Director of Development and Franchise Administration
In her role as Director of Development, Jeana is responsible for new store development across the U.S. Jeana has been with A&W since 2006, and has been leading the brand’s growth initiatives since 2011. With A&W’s focus on operational excellence and customer service, Jeana has been instrumental in leading the development department with 50+ new store openings.

Director of Finance & Administration
Jodi oversees the accounting and finance team for both A&W Restaurants corporate and our four restaurant locations, as well as human resources, benefits, and office management. She started in 2012, coming from public accounting as a certified public accountant. Her only restaurant experience before joining A&W was busing tables at her mother’s fountain grill. Favorite menu item: Papa Burger with Spicy Papa Sauce
